A String and M - theory Origin for the Salam - Sezgin Model

چکیده
An M/string-theory origin for the six-dimensional Salam-Sezgin chiral gauged super-gravity is obtained, by embedding it as a consistent Pauli-type reduction of type I or het-erotic supergravity on the non-compact hyperboloid H 2,2. We can also obtain embeddings of larger, non-chiral, gauged supergravities in six dimensions, whose consistent truncation yields the Salam-Sezgin theory. The lift of the Salam-Sezgin (Minkowski) 4 × S 2 ground state to ten dimensions is asymptotic at large distances to the near-horizon geometry of the NS5-brane.

Tubular D-branes in Salam-Sezgin Model
We study DBI-type effective theory of an unstable D3-brane in the background manifold R×M2 where M2 is an arbitrary two-dimensional manifold. We obtain an exact tubular D2-brane solution of arbitrary cross sectional shape by employing 1/ cosh tachyon potential. When M2 = S2, the solution is embedded in the background geometry R1,3 × S2 of Salam-Sezgin model. This tachyon potential shows a uniqu...
متن کاملStrange quark matter attached to string cloud in general scalar tensor theory of gravitation
Bianchi type-VI0 space time with strange quark matter attached to string cloud in Nordtvedt [1] general scalar tensor theory of gravitation with the help of a special case proposed by Schwinger [2] is obtained. The field equations have been solved by using the anisotropy feature of the universe in the Bianchi type-VI0 space time. Some important features of the model, thus obtained, have been di...
متن کاملBulk viscous string cosmological models in Saez – Ballester theory of gravitation
Spatially homogeneous Bianchi type-II, VIII and IX anisotropic, as well as isotropic cosmological models can be obtained in a scalar tensor theory of gravitation proposed by Saez and Ballester (1986) when the source for energy momentum tensor is a bulk viscous fluid containing one-dimensional cosmic strings. All the models obtained and presented here are expanding, non-rotating and accelerating...

Over the last two decades, extended objects in field theories called solitons have played an important role in particle physics and astrophysics. In certain cases, these solitons possess a conserved topological charge, which guarantees their stability. There are other extended field configurations, however, which are not topological; these “nontopological solitons” are stable for dynamical reas...

We give an overview of recent work on charge degrees of freedom of strongly correlated electrons on geometrically frustrated lattices. Special attention is paid to the checkerboard lattice, i.e., the two-dimensional version of a pyrochlore lattice and to the kagomé lattice. For the checkerboard lattice it is shown that at half filling when spin degrees of freedom are neglected and at quarter f...
